Terms & Conditions
By purchasing an e-gift card or booking a place at one of our Modern Kintsugi sessions (applicable to all venues), or making a private booking with us, you agree to bound by these terms. Please read them carefully.
All no-shows will lose their booking in its entirety.
1. Booking and Payments
Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place.
Spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
2. Cancellations, Refunds & Transfers
All bookings are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by Sussex Kintsugi.
If you are unable to attend on your booked date, you may either:
-
Reschedule to another available session, or
-
Transfer your booking to another person at no extra cost.
To reschedule, please email info@sussexkintsugi.co.uk with a specific alternative date that you have checked on our website.
If your email does not include a proposed new date, we will not be able to process your request further.
If you prefer Sussex Kintsugi to suggest available dates instead of checking the website yourself, a £15 administration fee will apply and must be paid before the new booking is confirmed.
If you wish to transfer your booking to another person, you must email us in advance with the full name and email address of the person attending in your place.
Unregistered participants who arrive on the day without prior notification will be refused entry to the workshop.
If you fail to attend your booked session, you will lose the right to reschedule or transfer.
If you booked with another person and they inform us on the day that you are not attending, this still counts as a no-show.
We strongly advise notifying us in advance if you cannot join, so that rescheduling remains possible.
We reserve the right to cancel any session that does not meet the minimum required number of participants.
In such cases, you will be offered the choice of a full refund or a transfer to another date.
3. Late Arrivals
Please arrive on time to ensure a smooth start and the best possible experience.
Very late arrivals may not be permitted to join and will not be eligible for a refund.
If you arrive after the session has started, participation will be at the tutor’s discretion. You may not have sufficient time to complete all stages of the process, and no additional time can be offered, as venues are hired by the hour.
3.a Prosecco Special Events
At certain advertised sessions under the name Prosecco Special, we offer a complimentary welcome drink of one glass of Prosecco per participant.
All participants must be 18 years or older.
The drink cannot be exchanged for cash or substituted for another beverage.
Any substitution or additional drinks must be purchased separately by the attendee and are not included in the workshop fee.
4. Health and Safety
All tools and materials provided are safe when used as instructed. Participants are expected to follow safety guidance throughout the session.
Sussex Kintsugi accepts no responsibility for injuries caused by misuse of materials or tools.
Our workshops involve the use of materials such as epoxy resins, metallic powders, solvents (acetone), and gloves (latex, nitrile, or other types).
If you have any known allergies or sensitivities, please inform us in advance so we can take appropriate precautions or advise you accordingly.
5. Photography and Media
Photos and videos may be taken during workshops for promotional use (e.g. website, social media).
If you prefer not to appear in photographs, please inform the tutor on the day.
6. Cancellations or Rescheduling by Us
If we need to cancel or reschedule a workshop (for example, due to illness or unforeseen circumstances), you will be offered:
-
A full refund, or
-
The option to transfer to a new date of your choice.
We aim to give as much notice as possible in such cases.
7. Eligibility
Workshops are open to participants aged 16 and over.
Prosecco Special events are restricted to adults aged 18 and over.
8. E-Gift Card Policy
Sussex Kintsugi e-gift cards are valid for 12 months (1 years) from the date of purchase.
They can be redeemed toward any in-person workshop or private session, subject to availability.
Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
If your booking total is less than the gift-card value, the remaining balance will remain available for future use.
If your booking total exceeds the gift-card value, the difference must be paid at the time of booking.
Workshop prices may change over time. If the gift-card value no longer covers the full cost of a session, the remaining balance must be paid by the recipient.
To redeem, enter your unique code at checkout or email info@sussexkintsugi.co.uk for assistance.
9. Pricing
We reserve the right to change the prices of our workshops and services at any time without prior notice.
10. Ceramic Object Availability
Each workshop includes a selection of pre-broken ceramic bowls or plates prepared in advance.
The style, shape, and colour of the ceramics vary from session to session and are not guaranteed to match images on our website or social media.
We aim to provide a thoughtful mix of forms and surfaces, depending on stock availability at the time.
11. Object Policy (Bringing Your Own Item)
Our sessions are designed as creative wellbeing activities rather than repair clinics, focusing on learning the Modern Kintsugi method in a relaxed and reflective environment.
To ensure a smooth experience, participants work on specific pre-broken bowls provided by Sussex Kintsugi. These bowls have a known clay body and a controlled break pattern, chosen for their compatibility with the teaching method, the materials used, and the time available during class.
If you wish to bring your own broken ceramic item, you must inform the tutor (Andri) in advance and send clear photographs by email to info@sussexkintsugi.co.uk
This allows assessment of the item’s suitability based on its clay type, surface, shape, size, and number of fragments.
Approval must be given before the session. Please note:
-
Bringing your own item does not entitle you to a discount.
-
You may only complete one piece during the session — either your own or one provided by us.
-
If you work on your own item, you are not permitted to take away an additional Sussex Kintsugi bowl.
This policy ensures fairness for all participants and maintains consistency in teaching and materials.
12. Private Bookings and Hosted Events
For privately hosted workshops (for example, when Sussex Kintsugi is invited to deliver a session at another venue), a deposit is required to confirm the booking. This deposit will be deducted from the final invoice once the number of participants has been confirmed.
Cancellations made less than ten (10) days before the agreed workshop date will result in the loss of the deposit.
Once your private booking is confirmed, Sussex Kintsugi will provide approved promotional text and images for use in your event listing or marketing materials. You may adapt this wording if preferred; however, any alternative text must first be reviewed and approved by Andriani Maimaridou to ensure that the information remains accurate and consistent with our course description.
Sussex Kintsugi accepts no responsibility for how other venues advertise, describe, or sell places at workshops we are contracted to deliver. This includes the use of promotional images or descriptions that do not accurately represent our workshops, teaching approach, or materials.
Any issues relating to ticket sales, participant communication, or event promotion must be handled directly by the host venue or organiser.
When Sussex Kintsugi is booked to teach a private session, we act solely as the workshop provider and are not the event host.
